DTS Spinal Decompression: Therapy is FDA cleared and has been clinically proven with an 86% success rate for pain associated with herniated or bulging discs...even after failed surgery. It is a non-surgical, traction therapy for the relief of back and leg pain or neck and arm pain. During this procedure, by cycling through distraction and relaxation phases and by proper positioning, a spinal disc can be isolated and placed under negative pressure, causing a vacuum effect within it. This has been shown to actually reduce the size of the hernaition or bulge in many patients in follow up MRI. We have helped many patients with this technology & if you would like to speak personally with someone who has benifited just let us know.
Instrument adjusting -Pulstar FRAS (Force Recording & Analysis System): is an FDA approved technology and is used as an analysis / diagnostic tool as well as a treatment modality. This unique computerized noninvasive fixation imaging system allows the doctors to accurately and objectively locate and correct spinal joint fixations. The goal is to obtain a measure of the movement of each vertebra or segment of the spine under evaluation. The Pulstar utilizes precisely controlled, low force, multiple impulses to provide a gentle joint mobilization. Both the force and the speed of the impulses are being computer controlled to provide optimal results with little to no patient discomfort & with out twisting or cracking.
Vibracussor: The VibraCussor is an instrument used along with chiropractic adjustments to relax tense muscles, relieve lymphatic congestion, restore joint motion, reduce post-exertion muscle soreness, release superficial and deep fascia and free adhesions and scar tissue. The vibrocussor delivers waves of percussive impulses deep into the tissues. The benefits include reduction or elimination in the frequency and intensity of musculoskeletal pain, decrease the need for pain medication and greatly improve the ability to participate in activities of normal daily living. It feels amazing as the medical grade percussive forces permeate your body. It almost forces your body to relax. Just ask any of our patients.
Digital Radiography: Exclusive for chiropractic use, RF SYSTEM lab / NAOMI has accomplished an excellent image quality with low Xray dosage to show the misalignment of body parts such as spine and cervical vertebra. The 48-megapixel high quality image with well-enhanced grayscale makes it possible to display soft tissues to bony parts in accurate and widened contrast. This allows for very clear & detailed imaging. We are not willing to guess what is going on with your spine. Not only are Xrays important for evaluating spinal biomechanical abnormalities, they also help the doctors rule out certian tumors, infectious processes, and fractures.
Acupuncture: Computer imaging of the brain during an acupuncture treatment shows dynamic activity occurring in many regions and structures within the brain. Research has shown that stimulating an acupuncture point causes an increase in the production of natural pain killers. It is helpful for acute and chronic pain management, post-surgical recovery, headaches and nausea, conditions related to hormonal imbalances, addictions, neurological pathologies, and arthritic conditions. The Consensus Development Statement on the Use of Acupuncture. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for nausea caused by cancer chemotherapy drugs, surgical anesthesia, and pregnancy; and for pain resulting from surgery and a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, an expert panel concluded. The panel of non-Federal, non-advocate experts was convened in November 1997 for the NIH Consensus Development Conference on Acupuncture, cosponsored by the OAM and the Office of Medical Applications of Research (OMAR). (NIH)
Physical Therapy: Doctors of Chiropractic are licesenced to perform any & all PT procedures. The long-term goal of Physical Therapy is to teach the patient how to manage and/or alleviate the current symptoms and how to prevent future episodes of pain from recurring. Other functional goals are made based on the patient's specific complaints, whether they be an inability to sleep through the night without pain, stand/walk for daily activities or exercise, sit for an extended period of time, or turn the head adequately for driving. Specific goals to increase the strength or flexibility of specific sources of pain are then made to facilitate the functional goals. Education on preventing future injury is stressed in our practice & we may overload you with information. Ultimately, it is important for our patient's to realize they typically have some influence over their condition. The doctors incorporate pysical therapy procedures on almost every patient.
MRI, CT, or Electrodiagnostics: When a patient is not responding as expected, advanced imaging may be ordered. MRI allows the doctors to see things they can't see from Xray, like the discs, ligaments, tendons, & muscles. This is how disc bulges, herniations ( protrusions ) or extrusions are diagnosed. They just can not be seen on Xray. CT scan captures many Xrays images and a computer compiles the results into a three dimensional image. A CT scan can be used to study all parts of your body, such as the chest, belly, pelvis, or an arm or leg. It can take pictures of body organs, such as the liver, pancreas, intestines, kidneys, bladder, adrenal glands, lungs, and heart. It also can study blood vessels, bones, and the spinal cord. Electrodiagnostis - " nerve tests " are utilized to determine if a person has a nerve compression like sciatica, carpal tunnel, peripheral entrapment syndromes, peripheral neuropathy, etc.
Referrals: Dr. Bui & Dr. Hall work with many local medical specialists including : pain management, general practitioners / family doctors, internists, orthopaedic & neurosurgeons. We attempt to provide a team approach to patient care, which improves patients' outcomes and satisfation. Even though 80-90 % of patients respond favorably to conservative care, some will need to go on to semi invasive procedueres ( spinal injections, facet blocks, epidurals, etc.). Others will need to consider more invasive surgical procedues. Some surgical options are minimally invasive. This is the real world & there is a time & place for all spine care options. There is no magic. We do not want patients to be in denial about the potential need for these interventions if conservative spine care fails. If patients are not responding favorably at re-evaluation or have significant neurological symptoms ( sensory & movement loss ) referral is highly likely. If you would like a referral to Internist, Orthopedist, Neurosurgeon or other provider please let us know.
Interferential Therapy : Interferential Therapy has been in use for many years, its effectiveness is well documented. Studies have shown that patients using Interferential Therapy after surgery develop fewer post-op complications than those relying solely on narcotics for pain relief. Interferential Therapy aids in circulation, increasing the recovery time for patients. Multiple treatments will typically speed the patient's recovery and allow earlier resumption of their normal lifestyle.
TENS: TENS is a non-invasive, safe nerve stimulation intended to reduce pain, both acute and chronic. Research has confirmed its effectiveness for postoperative pain, osteoarthritis, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Scientific studies show that high and low frequency TENS produce their effects by activation of opioid receptors in the central nervous system. TENS units can also be used in an attempt to temporarily alleviate neuropathic pain (pain due to nerve damage).
